Ukrainian-born pianist Oksana Zotova has been described by critics as une pianiste extraordinaire with formidable musical gifts
and a wild-flower technique, with a warm tone and sensational clarity. Her performances are characterized by power, brilliance, individual style and passion,
combined with sensitivity, intelligence, subtlety and captivating charm.
Oksana Zotova has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, Russia, Italy, Yugoslavia, Latvia and the Ukraine.
She has been a prize winner in the 21 Century Art International Competition and the Ibla Grand Prize World Music Competition,
held in Italy. Oksana was invited for a series of concerts by the Ukrainian Philharmonic Society, has recorded for CBC Radio,
and has been a recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Glier Scholarship for three consecutive years, and awards of recognition from the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and the Rachmaninov Society.
She moved to Canada in September 2002, and has been receiving rave reviews since then: Zotova gave the audience a powerful Canadian debut...
Her technical command of the keyboard knows no limitation, even in the most complex music ("The Chronicle Herald").
She has also gained recognition as a distinguished chamber musician,
collaborating with artists such as Canadian soprano Marie-Josee Lord, French violinist Frederic Pelassy,
erhu virtuoso George Gao,
and the Blue Engine String Quartet. Oksana worked as a collaborative pianist for Yuri Bashmet International Viola Competition (Moscow, Russia),
Prix d'Europe, OSM Standard Life Competition (Montreal, Canada), Canadian Music Competition (Toronto, Canada), for Debut Atlantic, St.Cecilia Concert Society, Ukrainian Philharmonic Society, etc.
Her deep understanding of music and ability to learn virtually any piece in a matter of days has allowed Oksana Zotova to develop an extensive repertoire,
ranging from Scarlatti, Bach and Liszt to Scriabin, Hindemith and contemporary composers.
Oksana Zotova graduated with distinction from both the Glier Kyiv State Higher Music College and the legendary Kyiv State Conservatory.
She subsequently studied as an assistant post-graduate at the Ukrainian Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music and worked for several years
at the Kyiv State Conservatory and the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
Oksana Zotova currently resides in Montreal, Canada.
